I fired my kiln in my studio, for the first time ever, in the spring of the year 2000.
That studio was my haven. A space that I could call my own and inhabit in solitude. In that space, I learnt to inhabit myself.
I had arrived at that moment after a relatively long and meandering journey. Six years of Art School (A BFA in painting from MSU – Baroda and a MFA from HCU Hyderabad) and then another three, learning ceramics at the Golden Bridge Pottery, felt like I had only just skimmed the surface of Art and Life. My Art practice is deeply rooted in the personal. The work has always followed the unfolding of my life, both interior and exterior.
